Massage

Massage has been around for THOUSANDS of years and is recognized by many health care practitioners for its benefits. It can improve circulation, recover soft tissue injuries quicker, reduce stress and muscle tension, and increase mobility and flexibility. The pressure will be met with what your mind and body needs at the moment. Everyones comfort level for pressure varies and different techniques call for different levels of depth. Sports massage and Deep tissue may feel more intense when scar tissue and adhesions are met while lymphatic drainage calls for more of a lighter touch to move inflammation. If you need more or less feel free to let me know! I can help you unwind and recover. The first session will benefit you but will also be a way for us to understand each other for future appointments.

 

Stretching


Assisted stretching feels amazing and provides you with benefits that you may not be able to achieve as easily on your own. It increases range of motion, blood flow, flexibility of muscles , and can also help with muscle coordination and response. In yoga it is said that emotions are stored in different points of the body so you may find that the stretches offered may create an energetic shift as well. Some stretches will require you to be passive, and will be very relaxing, while others may require you to be gently active.

 

 

Cupping

Cupping therapy is an ancient Chinese technique that uses suction to interrupt stagnation in the body. It pulls the impurities to the surface of the muscle leading to increased oxygenated blood, and decreased inflammation in the joints. This helps to restore the natural energy flow of the body. The cups can be left on specific points or can be glided around the skin. Bruising may occur and can potentially last between 2-10 days depending on how much energy is pulled to the surface. The benefits from cupping is fantastic but if the appearance of bruises are a concern it is important that you let me know during our consultation.

 

 

Graston Technique

Graston Technique is a soft tissue instrument assisted mobilization that brings a pro inflammatory response to the body. This type of scraping breaks up adhesions and scar tissue augmenting the healing process. Graston can increase range of motion, decrease pain and speed up recovery time!
